NY 13th District Congressional Technology Debate

After serving 23 terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Charles Rangel is going to retire at the end of 2016.  Mr. Rangel was present for the 13th Congressional District of New York’s first Technology + Innovation Debate.  The event was hosted by Silicon Harlem on April 7th at MIST Harlem.  The debate took place in front of a live audience, giving seven of the candidates who are all vying to fill Rangel’s soon to be vacant seat, an opportunity to put forward their ideas and plans on how to make science and technology an intricate part of improving the lives of the people in the 13th district.  The topics debated ranged from student education to affordable housing and job creation in the sciences and technology industries.
